Replica, assembled model ready for display or incorporation into layout. The Big Viaduct is one of many beautiful cut stone arch spans construceted in the 1800s - early 1900's as the Pennsylvania Railroad upgraded the original physical plant and right of way through central and western Pennsylvania. The "Broadway" Mainline criss crossed several rivers including the Junianta,  Little Junianta, Conemaugh and smaller streams, many times as it progressed Westward from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh, PA.

The Indian Creek Viaduct model is a replica, model of one of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroads cut stone arch spans. Prototype is located at the confluence of Indian Creek and the Youghiogheny River in Western Pennsylvania.
 

Prototype was built in 1889' as the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad upgraded the railhead westward from Cumberland, MD in an effort to support increased traffice and upgrade the right of way as industry and commerce opened up the Ohio River valley to Eastern markets. 

Model captures craceful lines and massive proportions of the protoype with slight curve and long stone retaining walls. Model is an  example of Americas  "Turn of the Century" engineering excellence.

HISTORY: Prototype  two (2) track  cast Iron truss bridge, replaced original wood trestle in 1863. Stone viaduct replaced the truss bridge in 1886' and stands today operating in revenue service! Model, replicates the original viaduct design, carrying all passenger & freight trains along the famous "Broadway"  mainline over Tuscarora Creek near Perryville, PA. MP 46.2 on the former Pennsy Middle Division.
