The Big Viaduct is one of many beautiful cut stone arch spans construceted in the 1800s - early 1900's as the Pennsylvania Railroad upgraded the original physical plant and right of way through central and western Pennsylvania. The "Broadway" Mainline criss crossed several rivers including the Junianta,  Little Junianta, Conemaugh and smaller streams, many times as it progressed Westward from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh, PA.

Model is a replica, model of one of B & O's cut stone arch spans on a gentle curve with long stone retaining wall approaches. Model captures craceful lines and massive proportions of the protoype with slight curve and long stone retaining walls
