KIT FORM - PRR, "Port Royal" Viaduct, Three Arch design
Building a Rail Road for the ages! The Pennsylvania
Railroads westward expansion reached this area around 1852'. Bridges of wood and Iron were constructed during
this period. Many of the bridges and viaducts along this section were replaced during the 1880's with cut stone arch
designs. In many cases the original stone piers were utilized and incorporated into the viaduct design. The Iron
bridges were reused for local highways. Model composition: My models are
built using an aggregate material replicating the look and feel of stone! Models like the prototype can endure
the test of time! Signed and numbered, models can be passed on to future generations of modelers in your family! Service life of One hundred Twenty Years (120)
and counting!! The prototype of this replica model, three arch cut
stone viaduct, stands today, operating in revenue service for NS! Design is testiment to the enginnering expertise
and foresight of Pennsylvania Rail Road management and engineering team. Replica model is an example of
Americas "Turn of the Century" engineering excellence. Enduring designs like this earned Pennsy the title
"Standard Railroad of the World". Fouth Track removed during Conrail period.
