The Legendary E8/9 SERIES,

Amng the most noteworthy diesel locomotive of the Post WWII period. The "E" series, EMD - Electromotive Division of GM - General Motors, were designed for high speed passenger service and have been called Standard bearer for America's passenger trains. Built from 1949 to 1963 they served on virtually every Class 1 railroad as the preeminent head end power even well into  the AMTRAK era.

The Life Like Proto 2000 (P2K) E unit models are legendary in raising the bar for the hobby in general and HO in particular when introduced in 1989.
