B & O  Railroad "Thomas Viaduct" , Circa 1835'

The Thomas Viaduct  is offered as a "SIGNATURE SERIES" Limited Edition  . Model is a replica of the original span  located at Relay, MD.   

AWESOME MODEL, A "MUST HAVE" for SERIOUS B & O FANS!!        

HISTORY: Prototype built in 1835' at this location, approx 13 miles from Baltimore, MD. The B & O Railraod spared no expense in building a series of cut stone Roman arch viaducts from Baltimore across MD and W VA as they cut a right of way from the Mid Atlantic region to the Ohiop River Valley.  As of 2008 the Thomas Viaduct and a number of similar but smaller viaduct's continue to serve in active day to day operation on the B & O Main line. 
This section of the CSX Ssystem, former B & O RR, is a very busy high density traffic corridor with CSX and MARC utilizing this Viaduct to cross the Patapasco River. The Old B & O Mainline and Metropolitan Lines diverge at this point.  Bridge stands as a tribute to the fore sight of the original B & O Management and engineering team as well as skilled stone cutters and labor gang who built a bridge to last for the ages!!  Today the viaduct supports massive weights with booming freight & passenger traffic crossing this section of the line.

BEAUTIFUL STONEWORK... My models are built  using an aggregate material replicating the look and feel of stone! Realistic,  My models & KITs, like the prototype, refer photos, can endure the test of time!

• Smoke Stack Plume. I will include one of my Smoke Stack Plumes. These are neat and are great for display or photos, refer photos. I do not recommend using them on moving trains as they are a low clearence hazard!!

FOCAL POINT  Model captures the size and mass of the prototype and provide a focal point of interest on your layout.  Compare model versus the prototype photos!

Model: Height, Width & Length closely approximate prototype, correct for HO scale. Model suitable for two tracks in S Scale .
